Translation of “delivery”
按 Gartner “Create an IT Organizational Structure That Drives Efficiency” 一文，有謂公司架構三支柱有 “Strategy, Governance & Planning”, “Delivery”, “Infrastructure & Operations”. 這不難懂，因為站在流程觀念上，先要策劃，接著落手搞出東西，然後付諸運營。故此，頭尾兩支柱的中譯大概為「策劃」、「基建及運營」。然而，中間的 “Delivery” 卻不好譯。 按 Axelos 中 ITIL v3 的中譯本，Delivery 大概譯為「交付」、「遞交」等。ITIL v2 亦有把 Delivery 譯為「服務提供」的。（案：服務提供這個辭很奇怪，前後件顛倒了，是英式文法，例如，我們平日說吃點心，未有聽過點心吃的，這與「服務提供」一樣奇怪。） 故此，Delivery 可以譯為「交付」、「提供」之類。然而，此中有個缺陷：交付與提供，是有所指涉的，究竟交付、提供的是甚麼？單提一辭曰「交付」、「提供」，不合中國人思維。這個問題在英文語境不存在，我們可以很容易接受有個部門叫 “Delivery Department” 以對應於 “Support Department”, 但我們不會了解甚麼是「交付部」、「提交部」等。 故此，必須回到 Gartner 原文，研判三個支柱的關係，然後咬緊這個關係，決定適合的中譯。Gartner 建議的流程，先有 Strategy, Governance & Planning, 之後 Delivery, 再之後進行 Infrastructure & Operations,…
